Union Bank–Air India Partnership Lets You Swap Credit Card Points for Free Flights, Upgrades & More

Union Bank of India has teamed up with Air India’s Maharaja Club to give UBI credit cardholders a simple way to turn everyday reward points into travel perks — including award flights, seat upgrades, excess baggage perks and more across Air India’s domestic and international network.

How It Works

Convert Union Reward Points → Maharaja Points (Air India’s loyalty currency) via the Union Rewardz portal.
Once converted, Maharaja Points can be redeemed for free airline tickets, cabin upgrades, excess baggage allowance and other travel benefits on Air India flights.
You need a Maharaja Club ID to complete conversions and earn miles in your Air India frequent flyer account.

Conversion rate example:
• UBI Platinum, SELECT RuPay & Signature Credit Cards convert at 6 Union Points = 1 Maharaja Point (rates may vary by card).

What You Can Redeem Points For

After conversion to Maharaja Points, you can use them for:
Award flight bookings across Air India’s domestic and global network.
Cabin upgrades (e.g., economy → premium or business class).
Travel add-ons and partner benefits.

This partnership essentially lets you turn credit card spending into real airline value — a great way to maximise everyday rewards beyond cashback or merchandise.

If you’re a Union Bank credit cardholder, this is a solid travel hack: convert your bank reward points into Maharaja Points and use them for free flights, cabin upgrades and other Air India rewards — turning everyday spends into real travel value.
