The Update
The bank has announced that from 1 November 2025, changes to its credit-card fee structure will apply — covering wallet loads, certain payments (education, utility, etc.), cheque payments, replacement cards, cash advances and late payment charges.
Key Changes to Watch
- New fees for wallet-load transactions above ₹1,000.
- Additional charge on education-related payments via third-party apps.
- Higher cash advance, cheque payment, card replacement fees.
- Revised late payment charges if Minimum Amount Due (MAD) isn’t paid on time.
What You Should Do
- Check your card’s variant’s Fees & Charges sheet on the SBI Card website.
- Avoid using your SBI card for wallet loads/education payments unless necessary — the cost may now be much higher.
- Ensure you pay your MAD in full or meet the criteria to avoid the tougher late-charges.
- If you have multiple cards, compare this SBI card’s updated cost vs benefits vs other bank cards.
