SBI Cardholders: Lower Fees, Higher Protection Starting Sept 16

Starting September 16, 2025, SBI Card will introduce a refreshed version of its Card Protection Plan (CPP). Existing subscribers will be automatically migrated to updated plan variants when their current plan is due for renewal. You’ll receive an SMS and email at least 24 hours before your renewal, so you know what’s coming.

What’s Changing: Features & Pricing

You’ll still get key benefits like card blocking, SIM blocking, emergency travel and ticket assistance abroad, fraud protection, mobile wallet protection, and a Credit Fit Program—often with expanded coverage.

Other enhancements include:

  • Emergency advance for hotels and tickets abroad:
    • ₹80,000 (Classic), ₹1.2 lakh (Premium), ₹1.6 lakh (Platinum)
  • Fraud protection going up to ₹1 lakh
  • Mobile wallet protection increased up to ₹50,000
  • Family coverage expanded (Classic → primary only, Premium → adds spouse, Platinum → adds parents).
