1️. Re-register on the Merchant Platform
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced that all e-Mandates registered via PNB RuPay Debit Cards need to be re-registered due to a system upgrade. This re-registration must be completed directly on the merchant platform or website.
2️. PNB Cards
PNB provides two types of debit cards:
- RuPay Debit Cards
- MasterCards
Both are available in Platinum and Classic versions.
3️. What is an e-Mandate?
An e-Mandate is a digital standing instruction that allows merchants and institutions to automatically debit specific amounts from your account, as defined by the mandate. For example, it could be used for utility payments, subscriptions, or other recurring charges.
4️. How to Create an Autopay Mandate
To re-register, follow these steps:
- Go to the merchant site, proceed to checkout, and select the option for recurring mandate or AutoPay.
- Enter your BHIM PNB virtual address (e.g., xyz@pnb).
- You’ll receive a notification in your BHIM PNB app.
- Log in to the app, go to UPI Mandate → Request Received.
- Verify details like the name of the beneficiary, amount, and frequency.
- Authenticate using your UPI PIN.
- Your mandate will be created successfully.
5️. Scan & Setup
If merchants provide a QR code, you can also set up a mandate by scanning the code to make the process quicker.
6️. Execution of the Mandate
Once the e-Mandate is set, payments of up to ₹15,000 will be debited automatically without requiring any further authentication on the due date. Make sure to have enough funds in your account to avoid any transaction failures.
