According to recent reports, InterMiles is ending direct flight and hotel-booking redemptions on its platform from 6 January 2026.
The Changes
-
From 6 January 2026, you will no longer be able to redeem miles directly for flights or hotel bookings on InterMiles’ website or app.
-
Existing bookings already made before the cutoff date should remain valid — but new redemptions using miles for travel are being blocked.
-
The program will continue to let users redeem miles for other options (vouchers, shopping, etc.) — but the core “travel booking” redemption feature will be disabled.
-
If you were planning to book flights or hotels using your InterMiles balance — you’ll need to act before January 6, or switch to alternate modes (cash, other loyalty programmes, etc.).
-
Frequent travellers who counted on “miles = free flights/hotels” will lose that benefit — potentially reducing the value of accumulated miles significantly.
-
For users who don’t travel often: miles may still be useful for vouchers or other non-travel redemptions, but value is reduced compared to earlier.
