IDFC First Credit Cards: Key Changes and Devaluations Starting February 2025

IDFC First Credit Cards, known for being LTF (Lifetime Free) and offering railway lounge access, are undergoing some major changes. Here’s what’s new:

1. Railway Lounge Access Now Comes With a Spend Condition

  • Previously, complimentary railway lounge access was available without any conditions.
  • Starting 20th Feb 2025, cardholders must spend ₹20,000 in the previous month to avail of this benefit.

2. Charges for Add-On Credit Cards

  • Currently, no fees apply for add-on credit cards (except for Ashva, Mayura, and FIRST Private).
  • From 20th Feb 2025, there will be a ₹499 + GST charge for any new add-on cards.

3. Education Fee Payments via Third-Party Platforms

  • A 1% fee (min ₹249) will apply for education fee payments through platforms like CRED, PayTM, Cheq, MobiKwik, etc.
  • No fee for payments made directly through the institution’s website or POS machines.
  • Reward points will still be earned as per your card’s reward structure.

4. Change in APR Range

  • Dynamic APR will now range from 8.5% to 46.2% (earlier, it was 9% to 43.8%).
  • Overdue interest remains 47.88% per annum.
  • Note: These changes do not apply to the FIRST SWYP Credit Card.

5. Fuel Surcharge Waiver Capped

  • The fuel surcharge waiver is now capped at ₹300 per cycle for Ashva, Mayura, and FIRST Wealth Credit Cards.
  • A 1% fee will be charged on total fuel spends exceeding ₹30,000 per cycle.

6. Card Replacement Fee Increase

  • Replacement fees will rise to ₹199 + taxes (applies to all cards, including Image Personalisation).
  • Exemptions:
    • Metal Cards: Ashva, Mayura, FIRST Private.
    • Digital Cards: FIRST Digital, FIRST EA₹N.
