HSBC Live+ Gets a Major Upgrade: More Cashback, Visa Infinite & International Lounge Access

HSBC is giving its Live+ Credit Card a significant refresh.

Starting 26 July 2026, the card will be upgraded to the Visa Infinite platform, bringing enhanced cashback, improved travel benefits, and a stronger lifestyle proposition.

For existing cardholders, this is one of the most meaningful upgrades the card has seen since its launch.

What’s Changing?

Higher Cashback Cap

The card will continue offering 10% cashback on eligible spends, but the monthly cashback cap is increasing from ₹1,000 to ₹1,200.

The enhanced cashback will now also cover shopping and utility spends, in addition to the existing food, dining, and grocery categories.

Travel Benefits Get Better

The upgraded card will now include:

1 complimentary international airport lounge visit every year

• Continued access to travel-related privileges through the Visa Infinite platform

For frequent international travellers, this is a welcome addition to a card that was primarily known for its cashback proposition.

Visa Infinite Privileges

With the migration to Visa Infinite, cardholders will also gain access to benefits such as:

• Airport Meet & Assist services

• Complimentary stays at participating ITC Hotels

• Offers on Avis car rentals

Along with other Visa Infinite lifestyle privileges.

New Fuel Benefit

HSBC has also introduced a quarterly fuel benefit.

Cardholders can now earn ₹250 cashback every quarter on eligible contactless fuel transactions, adding another everyday use case for the card.

Why This Is Interesting

Most card refreshes involve one or two incremental changes.

HSBC has taken a broader approach by improving the card across cashback, travel, lifestyle, and fuel spends while upgrading it to the Visa Infinite network.

For existing cardholders, this is an enhancement rather than a devaluation—a welcome change at a time when many issuers are tightening benefits.

The Bigger Picture

Over the past year, we’ve seen several banks reduce reward rates, introduce spending thresholds, and cap premium benefits.

HSBC is taking a different route by strengthening one of its flagship lifestyle cards.

Whether these enhancements are enough to make HSBC Live+ one of the strongest cashback cards in its segment will depend on the final terms and how the benefits perform in everyday use.
