BOBCARD Tightens Lounge Access Rules: Spend Requirement Increased

BOBCARD has announced a significant revision to the domestic airport lounge access criteria for select premium credit cards, making lounge access harder to unlock from October 2026.

The update applies to Eterna, Eterna FD, Tiara, and Varunah Premium Credit Cards and will come into effect from 1 October 2026.

What’s Changing?

Current Criteria (Valid till 30 September 2026)

• Unlimited domestic airport lounge access

• Spend ₹40,000 in the preceding calendar quarter to qualify

Revised Criteria (From 1 October 2026)

• Unlimited domestic airport lounge access continues

• Spend requirement increases to ₹75,000 in the preceding calendar quarter

What Does This Mean?

The lounge benefit itself isn’t being removed, but the eligibility threshold is increasing substantially.

Cardholders will now need to spend nearly 88% more each quarter to continue enjoying unlimited domestic lounge access.

For occasional users, this may not be a major hurdle. However, those who were just meeting the ₹40,000 quarterly threshold will need to reassess their spending strategy to retain access.

Why This Matters

Over the past few years, banks have increasingly linked lounge access benefits to minimum spending requirements as airport lounges continue to face growing demand.

BOBCARD’s latest revision follows a broader industry trend where lounge access remains available, but only for customers demonstrating higher engagement with their cards.
