Apple Pay Is Now Live in India on Axis Bank Credit Cards

Apple Pay has officially launched in India, with Axis Bank credit cards among the first to support it — confirming what was expected as a phased rollout. You can now add eligible Axis cards and tap to pay on supported terminals and checkouts, while still earning your usual card rewards.

Offer Details

  • Apple Pay is live for participating Axis Bank credit cards
  • Two ways to add a card: Wallet app → Add Debit or Credit Card, or the Axis Bank app → card → “Add to Apple Pay”
  • Update the Axis app first before attempting to add a card
  • Some cards add via in-app approval; others support SMS OTP, useful if you’re setting up a second iPhone

Eligible Cards / Who Can Avail

  • Axis credit cards that have been enabled — reports include Magnus, Atlas, Olympus, Horizon, Flipkart, Scapia, MyZone, Neo, Privilege, Samsung, Select, Ace, Airtel, BP, Vistara, IndianOil, Rewards, Cashback, among others
  • iPhone users holding an eligible Axis card

Benefits

  • Tap-to-pay and Face ID checkout without typing in card details
  • No extra OTP step on your own device in many flows
  • Same underlying card rewards and benefits continue as usual

How to Claim / Steps

  • Update the Axis Bank app
  • Try adding your card from the Wallet app or from the card screen inside the Axis app
  • Authenticate as prompted — app approval or OTP depending on the card
  • Test a small tap or a supported online checkout once added

Validity / Important Notes

  • Launch-day glitches have been reported (“card not added”) — retry after a few hours if it fails the first time
  • Not every Axis card or every merchant checkout is live on day one
  • Online use also depends on the payment gateway supporting Apple Pay
  • This confirms our earlier heads-up that Apple Pay was coming with Axis as the debut partner — more banks are expected to follow

If you’ve got an Axis card and an iPhone, it’s worth trying to add it today. Anyone got it working yet, or hit the “card not added” glitch?
